On Saturday, the Fort Wayne Snider Panthers faced the Northridge Raiders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Fort Wayne Snider snuck past Northridge with a 50-44 win. The victory was nothing new for Fort Wayne Snider as they're now sitting on four straight.
Tia Phinezy continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Zyann Phinezy, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rielyn Goodwin, who scored 12 points along with four steals. Goodwin hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Sabrina Miller, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Fort Wayne Snider pushed their record up to 18-2 with that victory, which was their 17th straight at home. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24 points. As for Northridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-3.
Fort Wayne Snider will head out on the road to square off against DeKalb at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. DeKalb will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Fort Wayne Snider is ranked sixth). As for Northridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Plymouth at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
