The Sickles Gryphons stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Spoto 58-32. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-10.
Leading Sickles to victory were Beckham Hockley and Kelsey Sharpe. Hockley scored 17 points, while Sharpe almost dropped a triple-double on 12 points, ten assists, and nine steals. Hockley is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last 13 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rye'keriyah Newton, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Sickles' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Spoto, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sickles will take on Strawberry Crest at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Strawberry Crest will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 421st, while Sickles is ranked 75th). As for Spoto, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Gaither at 6:30 p.m.
