The Leland & Gray Rebels will head out on the road to square off against the Bellows Falls Terriers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Leland & Gray came tearing into last Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 39-17 margin over Woodstock.
Meanwhile, Bellows Falls scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Everything went their way against Green Mountain as Bellows Falls made off with a 63-42 victory. Bellows Falls has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season.
Bellows Falls' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Delaney Lockerby, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Abby Nystrom, who scored 18 points along with six assists and four steals. Nystrom has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Laura Kamel, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds.
Leland & Gray is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. As for Bellows Falls, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.
Leland & Gray was taken down by Bellows Falls 44-14 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Leland & Gray avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
