The Poetry Community Christian Pioneer were the 50-33 winner over Longview Christian when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Poetry Community Christian took a 41-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the on Monday.
Despite the loss, Poetry Community Christian still got an impressive performance from Daniel McClure, who scored 12 points along with four steals. McClure hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Ethon Risinger was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Leading Longview Christian to victory were Ikey Diffie and Judah Sandel. Diffie dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Sandel dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Diffie has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Oscar Adame, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Poetry Community Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Longview Christian, their win ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-10.
Poetry Community Christian will challenge the at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Longview Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Monday. As for they, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Poetry Community Christian at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Texas (Poetry Community Christian is ranked 1575th, while the are ranked 1589th).
