The Purchase Line Red Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Conemaugh Township Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Things were looking good for Purchase Line after they put the first points on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Conemaugh Valley, falling 13-1. The Red Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Purchase Line saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Moyer, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Conemaugh Township got the win against River Valley on Wednesday by a conclusive 17-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.
Colin Dinyar was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brennan Lohr, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was DJ Bambino, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Conemaugh Township always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as River Valley only posted an OBP of .389.
Purchase Line's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Conemaugh Township, their record now sits at 2-0.
