Washington County is 8-2 against East Laurens since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the Washington County Golden Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the East Laurens Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
East Laurens will be up against a hot Washington County team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Washington County took down Central 71-57 on Tuesday.
Washington County can attribute much of their success to Brashod Heggs, who went 8 for 12 en route to 17 points and six assists, and Zion Cordy, who went 5 of 7 to rack up 17 points. Thanks to that strong game, Cordy now owns an excellent 40.4% three-point shooting accuracy. Justin Johnson was another key player, going 6 of 10 on his way to 12 points.
Treutlen typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday East Laurens proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged the Vikings out 78-75. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Vikings are ranked 350th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Washington County better keep an eye on Tylan Snead. He was instrumental in East Laurens' win, dropping a triple-double with 20 points, 15 rebounds, and ten assists. Those ten assists gave Snead a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Skyler Snead, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Washington County has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 27.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like East Laurens struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Washington County came up short against East Laurens in their previous matchup on Thursday, falling 61-48.
