Edison waltzed into their contest on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against the Watkins Glen Lake Hawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Spartans have posted against the Lake Hawks since April 12, 2017.

Aurora Parlo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Charlee Stroman and Emily Aiello did most of the damage at the plate: Stroman went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Aiello went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most hits Stroman has posted since back in April. Kailey Ripley was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

Edison pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Watkins Glen, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Edison has already played their next matchup, a 10-5 defeat against Susquehanna Valley on the 1st. Watkins Glen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
