In what's become a running theme this season, the Howard Wildcats gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Dickinson 62-28 on the road. The victory was just what Howard needed coming off of a 52-29 loss in their prior matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Howard to victory, but perhaps none more so than Destiny Smith, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and five assists. Smith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Ha'lena Griffin was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with nine rebounds.
Howard is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Dickinson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.
Howard on the road again on Tuesday and play against Appoquinimink at 5:15 p.m. on January 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Delaware (Appoquinimink is ranked 15th, while Howard is ranked 18th). As for Dickinson, they will be playing at home against First State Military Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. First State Military Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last eight games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
