Brett O'Neil and Dalton Buehler provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Goodland. The connection was good for 81 yards, the longest such play in Great West this season.
Scott extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Cowboys, 51-15. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Beavers.
Scott's dynamic duo of O'Neil and Buehler proved tough for Goodland to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. O'Neil threw for 257 yards and four touchdowns and Buehler had 111 yards receiving. Tyler Hess helped Scott's passing attack out by catching five balls for 68 yards.
Yates Sutton was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 20 carries, he ran for 165 yards as Hugoton beat Kent Teeter's team. Teammate Ross Davis added to the ground attack by rushing for 90 yards.
Luke Haney made the biggest impact on defense this week as Ulysses lost to Holcomb. The 5-foot-11 defensive end racked up 2.0 sacks.
Scott's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Beavers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. O'Neil has thrown for 901 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Hess has 18 catches for 341 yards. Buehler leads the league in rushing with 810 yards.
The Eagles were the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in the league. Hugoton beat Southwestern Heights 37-19 earlier in the week.
