This season hasn't been kind to the Sheridan Rams, who are still winless after their sixth game. They took a 61-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of William Smith. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Sheridan lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Emilio Cruz. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Will Brent, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks.
Sheridan bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for William Smith, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.
Sheridan will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lake County at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. William Smith won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lotus School For Excellence at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th.
