On Friday, it was close, but Wilson sidestepped Springtown for a 48-46 win.
Several Porcupines players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Esther Balado, who scored 12 points along with nine steals and eight rebounds. Balado also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Kylie Russell was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Wilson's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Springtown, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season.
Wilson will head out on the road to face off against Hillcrest at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hillcrest presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wilson in Texas (Hillcrest is ranked 488th, while Wilson is ranked 1172nd). As for Springtown, they will be playing at home against International Leadership of Texas Keller at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
