Veritas Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Lacordaire Academy Lions at 4:00 p.m. on February 12th. Veritas Christian Academy will be strutting in after a win while Lacordaire Academy will be coming in after a loss.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Veritas Christian Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They secured a 45-41 W over Atlantic Christian.
Caitlin O'Malley and Amya Cuddon were among the main playmakers for Veritas Christian Academy as the former dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds and the latter scored 13 points along with five steals. O'Malley has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Torppey, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, sadly, Lacordaire Academy is still looking for their first win of the season after six matchups. They took a 32-15 bruising from Trinity Christian last Friday.
Veritas Christian Academy pushed their record up to 19-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Lacordaire Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Everything came up roses for Veritas Christian Academy against Lacordaire Academy in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 55-13 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Veritas Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
