Macon County and Manchester are an even 5-5 against one another  since February of 2021, but  not for long. The Macon County Bulldogs will head out on the road to  face off against  the Manchester Blue Devils  at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication,  the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Macon County didn't have too much trouble with Central  as they won  80-61. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive  victory against them.

Macon County relied on the efforts of   Lavoris Smith, who  went 6-for-15  en route to 20 points and seven  boards, and   Joshua Fulks, who  posted 13  points and six  rebounds. Smith continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Eric Rice, who  scored nine points and three  steals.
 Macon County  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 18  offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  offensive rebound total in three consecutive  contests.
Meanwhile, Manchester didn't have quite enough to beat Mt. Zion on Saturday and fell  72-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game  on Thursday (63), the Blue Devils still had to take the loss.
 Macon County will have to keep a close watch on  Jaedyn Terry and  Dre Mcghee, a pair of players who had a big impact on Manchester's prior game. Terry  earned 20  points and seven  rebounds, while  Mcghee  put up 20 points and eight  boards. Terry's afternoon made it five games in a row in which  he has scored at least 15 points.  Jhiere Terry was another key player,  putting up eight  points and seven  rebounds.
 Manchester's loss dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Macon County, their win bumped their record up to 20-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest:  Macon County has been crashing the boards this season,  having  averaged 37.1  boards per game. However, it's not like Manchester struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 48.1  rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
 Macon County lost to Manchester on the road  by a decisive  69-53 margin  in their previous meeting  back in January. Can Macon County avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
