Westminster Academy is 9-1 against False River since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Westminster Academy Crusaders will be playing in front of their home fans against the False River Gators at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Westminster Academy's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while False River has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Last Friday, Westminster Academy took their game at home with ease, bagging a 78-41 win over St. Edmund.
Meanwhile, False River was beaten by Catholic of Pointe Coupee 60-33 on Tuesday. False River has struggled against Catholic of Pointe Coupee recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Karson Lacombe, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Matthew Graffeo was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 13 rebounds and four steals.
The win got Westminster Academy back to even at 12-12. As for False River, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-21 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Westminster Academy against False River when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 92-32 win. Will Westminster Academy repeat their success, or does False River have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
