Decatur Community has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Ness City Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Decatur Community focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-32, which was the final score in Decatur Community's tilt against Hoxie. While losing is never fun, Decatur Community can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while Hoxie is ranked third).
Decatur Community's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Brylee Minnick, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals, and Kamryn Oien who scored 11 points. Minnick is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Ness City earned a 42-30 victory over Dighton back in December of 2023. The win made it back-to-back wins for Ness City.
Decatur Community's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Ness City, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
