After flying high against the Midwest Oilers two weeks ago, the Guernsey-Sunrise Vikings came back down to earth. Guernsey-Sunrise had to suffer through a rough 62-26 loss at the hands of Lingle-Fort Laramie. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Guernsey-Sunrise has scored all season.
Elijah Hatch continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lingle-Fort Laramie, scoring 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hatch has scored all season. Ned Nelson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
Guernsey-Sunrise's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Lingle-Fort Laramie, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
Guernsey-Sunrise will be playing in front of their home fans against Crawford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Crawford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 180th in Nebraska, while Guernsey-Sunrise is ranked 45th in Wyoming). As for Lingle-Fort Laramie, they will head out on the road to challenge Morrill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Morrill will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
