The Chaparral Roadrunners had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They secured a 51-45 W over Medicine Lodge. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Chaparral also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Chaparral's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaylee Swartz led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Auburn Hill, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine assists.
Chaparral's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Medicine Lodge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.
Chaparral will head out on the road to square off against the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Medicine Lodge, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Dragons at 6:00 p.m. Belle Plaine and the Indians are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
