Collinsville might have lost, but man, Jace Wilkinson was a machine: he rushed for 65 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 246 yards and one touchdown. Wilkinson's passing game has become a key predictor of the Kahoks' success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise. Collinsville's leading receiver Loyal Patterson was Wilkinson's top target yet again, picking up 119 receiving yards and one score.
Meanwhile, Cahokia waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They claimed a resounding 40-8 victory over the Orphans. With the Comanches ahead 24-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Cahokia's win came from a few key players Collinsville will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Machai Henderson, who rushed for 103 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Nigel Gooden, who rushed for 63 yards and one TD on only seven carries.
Cahokia's run defense was locked in: Centralia could only muster 2.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Malik Mazyun for the heroic effort on defense: he. Cahokia didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.1.
Cahokia's defense didn't let Archie Goewey, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Mazyun, Jayden Robinson, and Antonio Morris, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Centralia's side was Mazyun, who picked up a sack, made 21 total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended one pass.
Collinsville now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Cahokia, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Things could have been worse for Collinsville, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 26-9 loss to Cahokia in their previous meeting back in October of 2024.
