Logansport hasn't had much luck against Harrison recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Berries will head out on the road to challenge the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. Logansport is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Logansport gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against North Miami as they made off with a 14-3 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Berries considering their two-run performance the game before.
Natalee Packard made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Adrienne Scott and Lucy Gordon did most of the damage at the plate: Scott went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Gordon went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave Gordon a new career-high. Kellyn Cripe was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Logansport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Miami only posted an OBP of .320.
Meanwhile, Harrison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Westfield, falling 10-1.
Harrison saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kamryn Popp, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Logansport's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Harrison, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
Harrison's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Logansport has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .476. It's a different story for Harrison, though, as they've only averaged .363. Will they be able to contain Logansport's hitters?
Logansport came out on top in a nail-biter against Harrison in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Will the Berries repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
