Sulligent had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Red Bay on Thursday. The Blue Devils blew past the Tigers 18-2. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Kallie Taylor made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double.

In other batting news, Maddie Lann was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, three doubles, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Crawford, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Sulligent always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Sulligent pushed their record up to 13-9 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Red Bay, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sulligent will face off against West Morgan at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Red Bay, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Colbert County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
