The Racine Park Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Racine Horlick Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Racine Park and seven for Racine Horlick.
Last Friday, Racine Park was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 50-49 to Oak Creek. While losing is never fun, Racine Park can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while Oak Creek is ranked 82nd).
Despite the loss, Racine Park had strong showings from Ellie Khreish, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Addison Betker, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Betker hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games.
Meanwhile, Racine Horlick pushed their score all the way to 62 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 88-62 walloping at the hands of Racine Case.
Racine Park has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for Racine Horlick, their loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-19.
Racine Park beat Racine Horlick 67-55 in their previous meeting back in January. Does Racine Park have another victory up their sleeve, or will Racine Horlick turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
