The Chaparral Cowboys suffered their biggest loss since November 30, 2023 on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 63-34 loss at the hands of Legacy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Chaparral has scored all season.
Chaparral's loss came despite strong showings from Qualib Ghallab and Elijah Bard. Ghallab scored 13 points along with nine rebounds, while Bard scored six points along with seven rebounds. Ghallab is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season.
Rahjon Chambers was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points for Legacy. Aaron Duke was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Chaparral has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Legacy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chaparral will challenge Cimarron-Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Legacy, they will head out on the road to take on Shadow Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Shadow Ridge is ranked 27th, while Legacy is ranked 18th).
