The Manchester Blue Devils were the 44-38 winner over the Harris County Tigers when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Manchester was dealt a 69-28 defeat at the hands of Harris County on Saturday.
Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Laziya Moody, who scored nine points. Jermiah Martin was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
It was another big night for Brooke Bass, who scored 26 points along with five assists and three steals for Harris County. Bass is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ja'Niya Broome, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Manchester's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 0-1. As for Harris County, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2.
Manchester will head out on the road to face off against Chattahoochee County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chattahoochee County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.8 points per game. Harris County and Tri-Cities will face off at 11:30 a.m. on December 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Tri-Cities focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
