It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers can now relate to. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 38-14 walloping at the hands of the Celtics on Friday. Melbourne Central Catholic's loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Ramel Hernandez and Joseph Allen certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Hernandez picked up 136 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Allen threw for 296 yards and two touchdowns.
Among those leading the charge was Austin Holder, who rushed for 155 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.0 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Wright ?25, who threw for 270 yards and a touchdown while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt.
Melbourne Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Trinity Catholic, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7.
Melbourne Central Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Trinity Catholic will head out on the road to face off against First Baptist Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. First Baptist Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
