Two dominant backs in Jeremiah Scott and Damari Baynard are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Johnson County will take on Brooks County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Johnson County sitting on 11 straight wins and Brooks County on three.
Johnson County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past McIntosh County Academy, posting a 34-7 victory. Considering the Trojans have won nine games by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Johnson County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tayshawn Norris led the charge by rushing for 58 yards on only seven carries, while also catching one touchdown. What's more, Norris racked up 17 receiving yards, the most he's had since back in September. Cory King was in the mix as well, providing Johnson County with one TD.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Johnson County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 276 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 190 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Johnson County's defense and their 5.5 sacks. In that department, Dewayne Abrams was the leader with 2.5. Johnson County received some extra help from King, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, Brooks County didn't have too much trouble with Taylor County on Friday as they won 21-6.
Johnson County better keep an eye on Junior Burrus. He was instrumental in Brooks County's win, throwing for 163 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Burrus' passing game has become a key predictor of the Trojans' success: the team is 5-2 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise.
Brooks County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Trae Stevenson, Anton Graham, and Caden Cobb picked up one apiece. Cobb got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Johnson County's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Brooks County, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
