Ferndale is 1-9 against Royal Oak since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Ravens at 4:30 p.m. One thing working in Ferndale's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four games.
While Ferndale's win against Osborn wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Knights 12-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since April 7th.

Matthew Trumpy and Mason Shaltis made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Trumpy pitched two innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Shaltis pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Trumpy has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Trumpy got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base, while Shaltis went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Ferndale is 9-2 when Shaltis posts two or more runs, but 0-5 otherwise.
In other batting news, Ferndale let Jaylin Dennard and Taylor Williams run wild. Dennard went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Williams got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Dennard has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Ivo Jungmann also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Ferndale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .639 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Royal Oak's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Milford. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Ravens, who until this match were averaging 3.83 runs allowed.
Royal Oak also got a good showing from Alex Kissling, who struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Furthermore, Kissling didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent over his last three games.
At the plate, Nick Panzica made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Ferndale is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Royal Oak, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Ferndale hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .349. However, it's not like Royal Oak struggles in that department as they've averaged .337. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Ferndale might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Royal Oak in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
