The Prospect Ridge Academy Miners will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Highland Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Prospect Ridge Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Highland likes a good challenge.
Even though DSST: Cedar scored an imposing 60 points on Wednesday, Prospect Ridge Academy still came out on top. Prospect Ridge Academy took their match against DSST: Cedar 72-60. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 13 more assists than your opponent, as Prospect Ridge Academy did.
Prospect Ridge Academy found their leader in underclassman Jackson Brandt, who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds. Brandt is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Tyler Brandt was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Highland pushed their score all the way to 58 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The match between Highland and Steamboat Springs wasn't particularly close, with Highland falling 75-58. Highland has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 2-1.
Prospect Ridge Academy beat Highland 83-73 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Prospect Ridge Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
