The Oasis Sharks will square off against the Southwest Florida Christian King at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oasis is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
Last Friday, Oasis came up short against Port Charlotte and fell 11-6. The Sharks haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Faith Tilley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Emma Neujahr was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Southwest Florida Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Gators. That's two games straight that the King's have won by exactly ten runs.
Braelyn Davis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Adrianna Thorne was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Candice Chime, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Southwest Florida Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Southwest Florida Christian pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Oasis, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Oasis has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .524. However, it's not like Southwest Florida Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .464. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
