Basketball Game Preview: Saint Francis Catholic Wolves vs. Bronson Eagles

The Saint Francis Catholic Wolves will challenge the Bronson Eagles at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saint Francis Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Bronson likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Saint Francis Catholic humbled Cedar Key with a 62-33 victory. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.

Saint Francis Catholic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was William Collett, who posted 13 points and four steals. That's the most steals Collett has posted since back in January of 2024. Liam Banks was another key player, putting up nine points.

Saint Francis Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Bronson escaped with a win on Monday against Bell by the margin of a single free throw, 37-36. The 37-point effort marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Saint Francis Catholic's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-7. As for Bronson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

Saint Francis Catholic and Bronson were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but Saint Francis Catholic came up empty-handed after a 68-67 defeat. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bronson's Justice Phillips, who went 11 of 21 on his way to 30 points and seven rebounds.
