It was a good run, but the Harrison Central Red Rebels unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 47-26 walloping at the hands of Biloxi. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Harrison Central has scored all season.
Biloxi found their leader in underclassman Zaniya Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least 25% of Biloxi's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Davison, who scored 11 points.
Harrison Central's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-1. As for Biloxi, their victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harrison Central will challenge St. Martin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (St. Martin is ranked 34th, while Harrison Central is ranked 14th). As for Biloxi, they will head out on the road to face off against Ocean Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ocean Springs is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
