The Fairfield Falcons will venture away from home to challenge the Foothill Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Fairfield will bounce into Wednesday's matchup after beating Bethel, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Falcons blew past the Jaguars 18-1 on Wednesday. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Karli Robinson was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs.
In other batting news, Claudia Lucero was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. Mariah Giron was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and two stolen bases.
Fairfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Foothill made easy work of Valley Christian last Friday and carried off a 34-22 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.
Foothill's record now sits at 7-4. As for Fairfield, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Fairfield has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .505. However, it's not like Foothill struggles in that department as they've averaged .553. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Fairfield took their victory against Foothill in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 15-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
