With a playoff win on the line, Mater Bay Academy rose to the challenge on Monday. Everything went their way against the Somerset Academy South Homestead Hurricanes as they made off with a 53-27 win. Guererro posted 19 points and seven boards, while Echane almost dropped a triple-double on nine points, 27 rebounds, and 12 blocks. Echane is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 17 games he's played.

Mater Bay Academy's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.1 points per game. As for Somerset Academy South Homestead, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.
