Marion County and Atlanta are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Marion County Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Atlanta Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
On January 2nd, things could have been worse for Marion County, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 68-54 loss to Brashear.
Meanwhile, Atlanta entered their tilt with Marshall with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Atlanta enjoyed a cozy 57-42 win over Marshall on Tuesday. Given Atlanta's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while Marshall is ranked 409th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Marion County's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3. As for Atlanta, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Marion County took a serious blow against Atlanta when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 69-35. Can Marion County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
