Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Centennial's Eighth in Last Ten Outings

Centennial came out on top against Kellis on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run third inning. The Coyotes put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 13-2 victory. The Coyotes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Leilani Diaz, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Annalise Macias was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Centennial hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in ten consecutive games.

Centennial is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Kellis, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Centennial will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
