The Newcastle Dogies were the 38-35 winners over the Wheatland Bulldogs when they previously met in February of last year. On Saturday? They had no such luck. Newcastle took a hard 54-40 fall against Wheatland. The Dogies' loss continues a disappointing trend for the team, making it six in a row.
The Dogies' overall record fell to 1-9. The victory -- their fifth in a row -- raised the Bulldogs' record to 13-2.
The Dogies will square off against Rawlins on Tuesday. Newcastle is at home for the contest, a silver lining they hope will compensate for their disadvantage in the MaxPreps rankings. The Bulldogs will stay at home against Gering on Saturday. The matchup looks good for Wheatland since they are the big favorites in the MaxPreps rankings.
