Vian Dolo threw three touchdowns and
Curan Simmons caught three as
Prep Charter (Philadelphia, Pa.) bested
Roxborough (Philadelphia, Pa.) 40-12 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Quadir Strothers in the first quarter, Prep Charter led 14-12 at the half.
PC grew its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. Prep Charter scored five times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Strothers.
PC scored 26 points in the third quarter on the way to a win. Prep Charter scored on a Strothers touchdown run, a touchdown pass by Dolo to Simmons, a Dolo touchdown pass to Simmons and a touchdown pass by Dolo to Simmons in the quarter.
The Indians came in allowing just 13.4 points per game this season. Roxborough struggled against Prep Charter's offense, which entered the game scoring 25.4 points per game. Coming into the game Prep Charter had allowed 24.3 points per game this year.
The win was a nice bounce back for PC, which lost to Imhotep Charter last week, 61-7. The loss comes after Roxborough defeated School of the Future 49-0 last week. The loss snapped Roxborough's two-game winning streak.
In a non-conference game next week Roxborough (5-4) takes on Simon Gratz, and Prep Charter (6-2) will go up against Mastery Charter North also in a playoff game.
