The Viewmont Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Riverton Silverwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After a string of three wins, Viewmont's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 51-41 to Skyline. Viewmont found out winning isn't easy when you nail six fewer threes than your opponent.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Mara Mickelson, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Mulitalo, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Riverton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Westlake 60-33. While losing is never fun, Riverton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while Westlake is ranked sixth).
Viewmont's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Riverton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Viewmont couldn't quite finish off Riverton in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 and fell 60-58. Can Viewmont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
