Simla waltzed into their contest on Friday with 13 straight wins... but they left with 14. They really took it to the Calhan Bulldogs for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-24 win. The Cubs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 21 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Simla to victory, but perhaps none more so than TJ Eurich, who posted 14 points and four steals. Eurich is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caston Cox, who had 11 points in addition to six steals and five assists.
Simla was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calhan only five assists.
Despite the defeat, Calhan saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Joey Mast scored ten points. Thanks to that strong game, Mast now owns an excellent 45.3% shooting accuracy.
Simla pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Calhan, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 10-13.
Looking ahead, Simla will look to defend their home court on Friday against Burlington at 4:30 p.m. Simla is facing Burlington at the right time seeing as Burlington is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Calhan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
