Baseball Game Preview: Brito Panthers vs. Southridge Spartans

The Brito Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Southridge Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brito is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Brito came up short against Coral Gables and fell 7-4.

Brito got a good showing from Victor Encarnacion, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The Panthers are 2-1 when Encarnacion allows one or fewer earned runs, but 5-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Cristopher Guzman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Brito's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 5-12 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Luis Diaz, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Southridge can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. Everything went their way against Miami Beach as they made off with an 8-1 victory.

Brito's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Southridge, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.
