After a string of three wins, the Collinsville Kahoks's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Triad. Collinsville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Triad apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Collinsville's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Talesha Gilmore, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds, and Ella Guererro who scored 14 points. The match was Gilmore's tenth in a row with at least ten points.
Collinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Triad, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Collinsville will square off against O'Fallon at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully O'Fallon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Tuesday. As for Triad, they will head out on the road to face off against Highland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Highland will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
