The Central Bucks South Titans will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Coatesville Red Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for Central Bucks South at home against Pennridge as the squad secured a 42-14 victory. With Central Bucks South ahead 28-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Central Bucks South got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anthony Leonardi out in front who rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. Leonardi is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played. Corey Moore was another key contributor, rushing for 108 yards and two touchdowns.
Coatesville never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Avon Grove last Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 42-7 victory over the Red Devils. Given Coatesville's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Avon Grove is ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Central Bucks South's victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Abington and 1-9 Harry S. Truman (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 32.4% over those games). As for Coatesville, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Central Bucks South came up short against Coatesville in their previous meeting back in September of 2014, falling 47-34. Thankfully for Central Bucks South, Jordan Young (who rushed for 92 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 298 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75.9% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
