The Kimball Longhorns can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent  match  on Saturday. They blew past Morrill 56-31. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Kimball also won the last time the pair played  back in December of 2023.
  Brandon Paxton was  his usual excellent self,  dropping  a double-double on 24 points and 17  rebounds.  Kyler Lusche was another key contributor,  scoring 17 points along with eight  rebounds.
 Morrill's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Pittman Ashwin, who  scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was  Teige Whetham, who  scored four points along with seven  rebounds and five  blocks.
 Kimball's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Morrill,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 13-9.
 Kimball and the Hornets will face off  on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pine Bluffs presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Longhorns in their respective states (the Hornets are ranked 44th in Wyoming, while the Longhorns are ranked 128th in Nebraska). As for Morrill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bobcats at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Hemingford and the Lions are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
