The First Academy Eagles lost against the Trinity Christian Academy Eagles back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. First Academy fell 60-52 to Trinity Christian Academy. First Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why First Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Amari Smith. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Smith is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhett Walsh, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
First Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
First Academy will head out on the road to face off against Umatilla at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Umatilla will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Trinity Christian Academy will take on Crooms Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
