The Commerce Tigers had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.2 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They snuck past Rabun County with a 23-17 win. The score was all tied up 17-17 at the break, but Commerce was the better team in the second half.
Despite the loss, Rabun County saw an underclassman step up: Ty Truelove threw for 249 yards and two touchdowns.
Commerce's victory was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-1. As for Rabun County, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.
Commerce will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oglethorpe County at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th. Rabun County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
