Worcester Academy is 0-1 against Hamden Hall Country Day since October of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Worcester Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past St. Luke's 46-0 at home. That's two games straight that Worcester Academy has won by exactly 46 points.
Among those leading the charge was Jojo Uga, who rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Uga was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Keith Sarkodieh, who rushed for 45 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Hamden Hall Country Day took their contest on the road on Saturday with ease, bagging a 46-15 win over Albany Academy for Boys. With Hamden Hall Country Day ahead 38-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Hamden Hall Country Day got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Charly Gulbin out in front who threw for 213 yards and four touchdowns while completing 92.9% of his passes. Gulbin is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Qeanu Johnson, who picked up 111 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Hamden Hall Country Day's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Mark Schoonmaker and his two sacks.
Their wins bumped Worcester Academy to 3-1 and Hamden Hall Country Day to 4-1.
