Volleyball Recap: Mira Mesa Has No Trouble Against Canyon Hills

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Coronado, Mira Mesa was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Canyon Hills Rattlers 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in March.

While Mira Mesa won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 26-24, 25-21.

Dylan Henry paced Mira Mesa's offense, picking up 12 kills. Henry were helped by Elias Santos and Nathan Montemayor, who contributed 12 assists each. Derek Kanuha controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Mira Mesa now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Canyon Hills, they dropped their record down to 8-15 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mira Mesa is set to square off against their familiar foe University City at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Canyon Hills will take on rival High Tech SD at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
