The Carson Senators's five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They came out on top against McQueen by a score of 51-39. The win was just what Carson needed coming off of a 57-16 loss in their prior match.
Carson was led to victory by Kiele Franco and Lauren Finnerty. Franco scored 11 points, while Finnerty scored 16 points along with six rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Franco has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Rabideau, who scored three points along with four steals.
McQueen's loss came despite strong showings from Caitlin Hilson and Audrey Baumgardner. Hilson scored nine points along with 18 rebounds and four steals, while Baumgardner scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Carson's victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12. As for McQueen, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Carson will head out on the road to square off against Spanish Springs at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Spanish Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. As for McQueen, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Reed at 5:15 p.m. Reed is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
