The Berean Academy Eagles put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past Heritage Academy Gateway 48-8 on the road. The result was nothing new for Berean Academy, who have now won four matchups by 40 points or more so far this season.
Berean Academy was led to victory by Jason Powell and Andre Shields. Powell gained 201 total yards and two touchdowns, while Shields rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Isaac Merrill got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Berean Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-0. As for Heritage Academy Gateway, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Berean Academy will be playing at home against Skyline Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Skyline Prep is ranked 14th, while Berean Academy is ranked 19th). As for Heritage Academy Gateway, they will head out on the road to face off against New Way Learning Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. New Way Learning Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
