The Alchesay Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tuba City. Alchesay has struggled against the Warriors recently, as their contest on Saturday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Alchesay's loss came despite strong showings from Ty Gushoney and Brent Aday. Gushoney scored 13 points along with three steals, while Aday scored 21 points. That was a full 42% of Alchesay's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Lavender, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
It was another big night for Tyler Tsinnie, who scored 23 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds for Tuba City. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tsinnie has scored all season. Deiondre Whiterock was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven steals.
Alchesay has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Tuba City, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-12 record this season.
Alchesay will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chinle is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Tuba City, they will square off against the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Arizona (Ganado is ranked 250th, while the Warriors are ranked 257th).
