The Lakewood Cougars had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Burlington-Edison with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 29-14. For Lakewood, this counts as revenge for the 24-6 defeat Burlington-Edison walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2022.
The critical scores for Lakewood came from Toren Jack, Andrew Talley, and Tyler Duncan.
Lakewood's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Connor Schueller and his two sacks.
Lakewood's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Burlington-Edison, their loss was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9.
Lakewood will take on Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Burlington-Edison does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
